Borsa Istanbul opens week looking up
BIST 100 index gains around 49.3 points
ISTANBUL
Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened the first week of 2026 at 11.547,72 points on Monday, increasing by 0.43% or 49.34 points.
On Friday, the BIST 100 rose by 2.1% to close at 11,498.38 points, with a daily transaction volume of 115.9 billion liras ($2.61 billion).
As of 10.10 am local time (0710GMT), exchange rates stood at 43.0420 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 50.3445 to the euro, and 57.8710 to the British pound.
The price of an ounce of gold was $4,418.20, while Brent crude oil was trading at $60.30 per barrel.
