US tech and e-commerce giant Amazon announced Monday that it plans to invest more than €1.4 billion (around $1.6 billion) in the Netherlands in the next three years.
"It underlines the company's confidence in the Netherlands and continues Amazon’s commitment to innovation and providing an even better experience to customers through low prices, selection, and convenience, while helping small businesses in the Netherlands succeed," Amazon said in a statement.
The company noted that this investment represents its most significant financial commitment to the Netherlands since the launch in 2020.
It will support both Amazon Web Services and Amazon's retail business, supporting infrastructure development, and help small and medium-sized businesses expand their reach to customers both in the Netherlands and internationally, according to the statement.
Amazon has more than 1,000 employees in the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, in early October, Amazon announced a $1.16 billion investment in its Belgian operations.
