Anadolu Agency has signed a cooperation agreement with Kazakhstan’s national news agency, Kazinform.
The agreement was inked by Anadolu Agency's Deputy Director-General Mustafa Ozkaya and Kazinform’s First Deputy Director-General Daniyar Uteshev.
The signing ceremony was held at Anadolu Agency’s Istanbul Office, where Ozkaya received the Kazakh delegation led by Uteshev.
Ozkaya expressed his pleasure over the finalization of the cooperation talks, which had continued for a while between the two agencies.
He recalled the historic ties between Turkey and Kazakhstan, which he described as a very important Central Asian country with a vast landmass.
“We are thinking of expanding Anadolu Agency’s activities in Central Asia. As Anadolu Agency, we want to benefit from the news stories produced there as well as to assume the task of conveying those stories to the world,” he said.
For his part, Uteshev also touched on the historic ties between the two countries, saying: “We're very happy to sign an agreement with an international organization like Anadolu Agency.”
Uteshev added that they, as a news agency, had also recently celebrated the 100th anniversary of their foundation. “We are honored and happy to walk together with Anadolu Agency in terms of both sharing news and having every kind of cooperation.”
Following the signing ceremony, the Kazakh media members visited the departments at the Anadolu’s Istanbul Office.
