Turkmen leader Berdimuhamedow nominated for election
Turkmenistan to hold presidential election on Feb. 12 next year

ANKARA
Turkmenistan leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow was nominated for the country's 2017 presidential race by the country's Democratic Party, according to Russia’s Interfax news agency on Thursday.
Berdimuhamedow, 59, is seeking a third term in office.
The Democratic Party unanimously nominated Berdimuhamedow, according to reports.
Turkmenistan’s presidential election is expected on Feb. 12 next year.
Candidates can be nominated 60 days before the election. Turkmenistan’s Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and the Agrarian Party will announce their candidates soon.
