Pakistan gets new air force chief

ISLAMABAD

Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday appointed Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu as new head of the country's air force.

In a brief statement, the Pakistan Air Force said the new chief will take office on March 19, following the retirement of his predecessor Air chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan on March 18.

Sidhu had joined the air force in 1986 as a fighter pilot and has been currently serving as the deputy chief of the Air Staff Administration.
