A massive landslide buried several vehicles in northern Pakistan on Tuesday, an official said.

The incident occurred in the remote Chilas district in the Gilgit-Baltistan region, which borders China, Faizullah Firaq, a regional government spokesman, told reporters.

At least two vehicles fell into the river due to the landslide, which also buried another four vehicles.

No casualty was immediately confirmed, Firaq said, adding that a rescue operation had been launched.
