India's External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on Thursday met with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin in Moscow.

According to a Kremlin statement, the meeting was also attended by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, and Indian Ambassador to Moscow Vinay Kumar.

Earlier in the day, top diplomat Jaishankar met with Lavrov, which comes amid the US threats of additional 25% tariffs on India, including on Russian oil.

Following the talks, Lavrov and Jaishankar announced that Putin may visit India before the end of the year.

This is the second time in two weeks that an Indian official has flown to Moscow to meet with Putin, as last week, the Russian president hosted Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
