Former Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has been summoned for a probe into him allegedly making threats to a lawmaker.

Duterte, 78, was summoned by a prosecutor in the city of Quezon, northeast of the capital Manila, to attend a probe starting on Dec. 4 into a complaint filed by Congresswoman France Castro, daily Inquirer reported.

The complaint claims Duterte made a “grave” death threat in a televised appearance where he talked about scrutinizing confidential funds used by Vice President Sara Duterte, daughter of the former president.

It is first subpoena for the controversial Duterte since he completed his term as president last year.

If found guilty, Duterte could face one to six months in prison.
