China has deported Jochen Sengpiehl, Volkswagen's chief marketing officer in the country, back to Germany after he tested positive for cocaine, state media reported Wednesday.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said Sengpiehl was deported following 10 days of detention for cocaine use.
Sengpiehl had been vacationing in Thailand before testing positive for cocaine upon his return to China. Authorities also detected traces of cannabis (marijuana) in his blood.
