The head of the Turkish parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee said on Tuesday that Cambodia would open an embassy in Turkey's capital Ankara.
In his meeting with Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn at the parliament, Volkan Bozkir said Turkey attached a great importance to its relations with Cambodia.
"Cambodia has taken decision on opening an embassy in Ankara, and they have also started the planning on that," said Bozkir.
Bozkir recalled that Turkey had opened an embassy in Cambodia's capital Phnom Penh in 2013.
Turkish Parliament Speaker Binali Yildirim also received Sokhonn at the parliament.
The meeting was closed to the media.
Sokhonn's visit is the first-ever from Cambodia to Turkey at the foreign minister level.
