Asian markets down at Tuesday's close
Indices close day in negative territory amid ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, increasing commodity prices

ISTANBUL
Asian stocks closed Tuesday mostly in negative territory amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine and increasing commodity prices.
The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, lost 35.23 points, or 1.04%, to close at around 3,364 points.
Tokyo's Nikkei 225 stock exchange was down by 430.46 points, or 1.71%, to 24,790.
The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, decreased 291.76 points, or 1.39%, to 20,765.
China's Shanghai stock exchange dropped 79.33 points, or 2.35%, to 3,293 points, and the Singapore index lost 38.96 points, or 1.22%, to 3,148.
The Indian Sensex benchmark was the only index to post an increase, rising 581.34 points, or 1.1%, to close at 53,424 points.
Meanwhile, major European indices were mostly higher as of the midday.
