Two people were killed late Sunday when Houthi Shiite militants opened fire on a local gas station in the northern province of Amran, eyewitnesses said.
"Two Hashid tribesmen were killed and as many others were injured, including one critically, when Houthi militants opened fire on the gas station," an eyewitness told Anadolu Agency.
According to the eyewitness, the shooting came following a dispute on organizing the line of cars outside the gas station.
Recent weeks have seen increasing clashes between Houthi militants and tribesmen who accusing the Shiite militants of seeking to establish control over their territories in northern Yemen.
Houthis are also battling tribesmen and Salafists in several parts of Yemen, which has been gripped by chaos since the ouster of long-ruling president Ali Abdullah Saleh in early 2012.
On Sunday, Houthi militants and tribesmen in Arhab, a district of the Sanaa province, signed a ceasefire agreement.
The two sides have been locked in an armed struggle for nearly seven weeks, leaving scores of people dead and injured.
