US' Rubio to visit Iceland, Greece, Portugal next week

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to Iceland, Greece and Portugal from Oct. 5 0 8, the State Department said Thursday.

Rubio will meet Icelandic officials in Reykjavik to "discuss economic and security cooperation," according to a statement.

In Athens, Rubio will lead the US delegation at the sixth US-Greece Strategic Dialogue, focusing on defense cooperation as well as regional and energy security, it said.

He will then travel to Lisbon for meetings with Portuguese officials on "defense, economic and technology cooperation", it added.
