WASHINGTON

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that on Feb. 3-12 its forces carried out 10 strikes against more than 30 ISIS (Daesh) targets in Syria.

The strikes targeted ISIS infrastructure and weapons storage facilities with precision munitions delivered by fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and unmanned aircraft, CENTCOM said in a Saturday statement.

The latest round of strikes follows five earlier operations conducted by CENTCOM forces from Jan. 27 through Feb. 2.

The campaign is part of Operation Hawkeye Strike, launched in response to a Dec. 13 ISIS ambush in the historic city of Palmyra, Syria. The attack targeted US and Syrian partner forces and resulted in the deaths of two US service members and an American interpreter.
