US President Donald Trump threatened Canada with additional tariffs Tuesday in response to Ottawa’s decision to impose duties on American products.

“Please explain to Governor Trudeau, of Canada, that when he puts on a Retaliatory Tariff on the U.S., our Reciprocal Tariff will immediately increase by a like amount,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The warning follows the implementation of a 25% US tariff on Canadian goods, which took effect Tuesday after a one-month delay.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced 25% tariffs on CAN$155 billion ($107 billion) in American products in retaliation, starting with $30 billion immediately and the remaining $125 billion within 21 days.
