US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday held a phone call with Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger, during which the two discussed European defense spending, stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the war in Ukraine, according to a State Department readout.
"The Secretary expressed appreciation for Austrian investment in the United States, and both leaders noted the opportunities to expand further direct economic investments, cooperation on dual-use industrial products, and the need for European nations to increase defense spending," said the State Department.
"Additionally, the Secretary highlighted our commitment to stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the need to obtain a ceasefire in Ukraine," it added.
