Speaker Mike Johnson confident US House will pass Senate budget plan
'I think it’s gonna pass today,' US House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson tells reporters

WASHINGTON
US House Speaker Mike Johnson said Wednesday that a vote on the Senate’s budget resolution will proceed later in the day, as scheduled, with enough Republican votes expected to secure its passage.
“I believe we will — eventually we will,” Johnson told reporters. “I think it’s gonna pass today.”
The budget, which supports President Donald Trump’s key domestic initiatives, has sparked concerns from some Republicans who prefer a more stringent House version.
These lawmakers are concerned the Senate plan, which calls for just $4 billion in spending cuts, doesn’t go far enough in reducing federal spending.
