Qatar denies prior knowledge of Israeli strike on Doha
White House says Trump directed his envoy Witkoff to inform Qatari officials of ‘impending attack’

ISTANBUL
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry on Tuesday dismissed US claims that the country had been informed in advance about an Israeli strike targeting Hamas leadership in Doha.
The White House said Tuesday evening that President Donald Trump directed his envoy Steve Witkoff to inform Qatari officials of the impending Israeli attack.
“Statements suggesting Qatar was notified beforehand are baseless,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari said on the US social media company X.
He clarified that the call received from a US official “came only after the sound of explosions was already heard as a result of the Israeli attack in Doha.”
