Hamas condemns US threats against Iran
‘We hold Washington and the Zionist entity fully responsible for the repercussions of the escalation against Iran and the region,’ Palestinian group says

GAZA STRIP, Palestine
The Palestinian resistance group Hamas strongly condemned US threats of military intervention against Iran amid rising regional tensions, warning that such actions could further destabilize the region.
In a statement Wednesday, Hamas said that US threats against Iran and ongoing Israeli attacks are "a blatant violation of international law and a direct threat to regional and global peace and security.”
“We hold Washington and the Zionist entity fully responsible for the repercussions of the escalation against Iran and the region,” it said.
The group expressed full support for Iran and its people, backing Iran’s "legitimate right to defend itself and its national sovereignty."
The statement also called on Arab and Islamic countries to adopt a unified and responsible stance to stop Israeli attacks on Iran and prevent further escalation in order to safeguard the region’s security and the interests of its people.
Regional tensions have escalated since Friday, when Israel launched airstrikes on multiple sites across Iran, including military and nuclear facilities, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory strikes.
Israeli authorities said at least 24 people have been killed and hundreds injured since then in Iranian missile attacks.
Iran said at least 224 people have been killed and more than 1,000 wounded in the Israeli assault.
