WASHINGTON
US climate envoy John Kerry is traveling to China this week to discuss global climate ambition, according to a State Department statement on Tuesday.
Kerry will travel to Shanghai and Seoul, South Korea, Wednesday and Thursday to discuss raising global climate ambition ahead of President Joe Biden's virtual Leaders Summit of Climate on April 22-23.
It also comes ahead of 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change later this year.
Kerry's trip will be the first by a Biden administration official to China.
