The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has given aid packages to flood victims in Nakuru state.

TIKA Nairobi Coordinator Emre Yuksek told Anadolu Agency on Monday: "We have delivered aid packages to 150 families, both for Ramadan and to share the pain of residents."

Yuksek added TIKA will maintain its support for the victims in near and far countries.

"We lost everything because of the flood. During nights the weather gets cold and we don't have anything to cover ourselves. We thank TIKA very much," flood victim Karol Incemyatic said.

Almost 50 people were killed in the flood in May and at least 500 houses and workplaces were submerged.

Nakuru was hit by a flood after a dam gate was punctured and the disaster victimized many others living nearby.
