Kenya confirms 17 new deaths from coronavirus

ANKARA

Kenya on Monday confirmed 17 new deaths from the novel coronavirus and 302 new infections.

The new fatalities raised the death toll to 1,469, the country’s Health Ministry said on Twitter.

“Today 302 people have tested positive for the virus, from a sample size of 3,038 tested in the last 24 hours, bringing to 83,618 the number of confirmed positive cases in the country,” the ministry added.

The new virus patients include 286 Kenyans and 16 foreigners, it said.

Since the deadly novel virus hit the country, the health authorities have conducted a total of 888,971 tests.

“369 patients have recovered from the disease […] Total recoveries now stand at 55,344,” the ministry said.​​​​​​​
