Turkey’s Foreign Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu, is also planning to meet with representatives of political parties outside of the government.

Turkish FM meets Ukraine's acting President Turchynov

Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who is in Ukraine to hold official visits, met with Ukraine's acting President Oleksandr Turchynov in Kiev on Saturday.

Turchynov said that the two countries enjoy strong economic relations, which continue to grow and thanked Turkey for being understanding, at what is a difficult time for Ukraine.

He added that they inherited a challenging legacy from the previous administration, referring to ousted President Viktor Yanukovych, dismissed Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara and former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov who resigned on January 28 amid public outcry and protests.

The Former Chairman of The Crimean Tatars National Assembly and Ukrainian Deputy Mustafa Abdulcemil Kirimoglu was also present at the closed meeting which lasted about an hour.

Davutoglu is expected to meet with Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Deshitsa later in the day.
