SANAA (AA) - A Yemeni intelligence officer was shot dead on Thursday outside his home in Yemeni capital of Sanaa, a security official said Thursday.
Gunmen opened fire at Colonel Abdurrahman al-Shami when he went out of his residential building, according to security sources.
The colonel passed away at the spot while the gunmen run away from the area.
No one or group claimed the responsibility for the attack. But Yemeni security services has blamed militants of al-Qaeda in Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
Recently, AQAP has intensified its attacks on security forces in Yemen, mainly in its southern and eastern provinces.
