Turkey's Ramadan fasting lasts nearly 17 hours, whereas the time reaches 21 hours in Scandinavian countries, having Argentina as the shortest with 9.20 hours

World Muslims fast for different hours during Ramadan

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's Ramadan fasting lasts nearly 17 hours, whereas the time reaches 21 hours in Scandinavian countries, having Argentina as the shortest with 9.20 hours. 

More than 1.5 billion Muslims throughout the world fast for different hours. Longest fasting takes place In Iceland's capital Reykjavik with 21 hours and 13 minutes, followed by Finland's capital Helsinki with 19 hours and 50 minutes, Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen with 19 hours and 30 minutes. 

Fasting lasts 18 hours and 37 minutes in Russia's capital Moscow, where Muslims of US' biggest city New York fast for 16 hours and 21 minutes. Canada Ottawa's Muslims fast for 18 hours and 23 minutes.     

Argentina's Ushuaia has the shortest fasting of the world with 9 hours and 20 minutes, followed by Australia's Hobart with 11 hours and 7 minutes.

Being under coup d'etat since July 3, 2013, Egyptian capital Cairo's Muslims fast for 14 hours and 52 minutes. Palestinian city Gaza's Muslims fast for 16 hours, where Lebanon's capital Beirut's Muslims spend 14 hours and 20 minutes, Damascus' Muslims 15 hours and Baghdad Muslims 14 hours and 15 minutes for fasting.
