NEW YORK
A U.S. court has found Egypt-born radical Muslim cleric Abu Hamza guilty of terrorism charges.
Hamza faces possible life imprisonment after a jury on Monday found him guilty of 11 acts of terrorism, including hostage-taking in Yemen, conspiring to set up a terrorist training camp in the U.S. state of Oregon, and providing aid to terrorist network al-Qaeda.
Hamza had been brought to the U.S. in 2012 after serving a seven-year prison term in the UK for incitement to murder and racial hatred.
He came to attention for his controversial sermons near Finsbury Park mosque in the UK, where he had served as an imam before being dismissed in 2003.
He continued his sermons near the mosque's gates until his arrest in 2004, and in one instance was recorded praising the perpetrators of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
