WASHINGTON
President Barack Obama strongly condemned on Friday the "brutal murder" of British citizen Alan Henning by the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant.
"Mr. Henning worked to help improve the lives of the Syrian people and his death is a great loss for them, for his family and the people of the United Kingdom," Obama said.
ISIL released an internet video Friday showing the beheading of Henning, an aid worker who was kidnapped last December in Syria. It was the fourth video released by the terror group that showed the beheading of American and British hostages. The group threatened next to kill American Peter Kassig.
The president said the U.S., UK and other allies will work to bring the murderers to justice.
