ANKARA
The Turkish Red Crescent Society dispatched on Thursday humanitarian aid bound for Crimea.
A ceremony was held in Ankara, the Turkish capital, to see off two trucks carrying clothing and food supplies packed in 1,300 boxes for Crimean Turks in need.
"We have made major contributions in humanitarian efforts in Somalia, Myanmar and Syria. And now we are extending a helping hand for our kins in Crimea," said Hamza Aydogdu, the society's deputy secretary general.
Aydogdu said the aid would be distributed to those in need in Crimea by a team from the Turkish Red Crescent.
