Turkish aid agency hosts iftar dinner for orphans in Afghanistan

ANKARA

Türkiye’s state-run Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) hosted an iftar fast-breaking dinner for orphans in Mazar-i Sharif, northern Afghanistan.

The Monday dinner for the Muslim holy month of Ramadan was also attended by Semih Lutfu Turgut, Türkiye's consul general in Mazar-i-Sharif, and TIKA Mazar-i-Sharif Coordinator Mikail Tasdemir, along with other local officials.

A large number of orphans took part in the iftar dinner, while 150 children from a TIKA orphanage also joined them.

TIKA also provided gifts to the children who attended the dinner.

According to Tasdemir, TIKA also provided daily iftar dinner to 150 orphan children who are living in an orphanage built by TIKA in the Badakhshan province.
