Trump says China meeting will be 'potentially, historic'

US President Donald Trump said Friday that his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping will be special and potentially "historic."

"President Xi (Jinping) is very happy that the Strait of Hormuz is open and/or rapidly opening," Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.

"Our meeting in China will be a special one and, potentially, Historic," he said, adding, "I look forward to being with President Xi — Much will be accomplished!"

Trump did not specify a date for the meeting.
