TIKA opens Turkish Department in Kabul University

KABUL, Afghanistan 

The chairman of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, Serdar Cam, has inaugurated three significant projects in Afghanistan's capital Kabul.

Cam said during the opening ceremony of the Turkish Department in Language and Literature Faculty at Kabul University on Tuesday: "Afghanistan is very special place for us, the country is center of our civilization."

Osman Babury, the deputy Minister of Higher Education in Afghanistan, also attended the ceremony.

Cam, who said TIKA's projects will continue in Afghanistan, also opened a garden for the faculty of agriculture in Kabul and a conference hall, laundry, dormitories and a cafeteria in a military school.

Cam also met first Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum and Second  Vice President Sarwar Danish.

Established in 1992, Turkey's government-run TIKA agency is responsible for implementing Turkey's developmental cooperation policies overseas.
