Three people, including two children, were killed and two injured in a bomb blast outside a house in Charsaddah town, located some 40 kilometers south of Peshawar, the capital of terrorism-plagued northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) province, which borders neighboring Afghanistan, officials said.

The bomb, according to police, was planted outside the house of a local which exploded killing a woman, and tow of her minor children. Her husband and another child were injured in the blast, the police said.

The police are investigating into the incident on different angles as they are not sure as to whether it was a terrorism related incident or result of some personal enmity.

Charsaddah in recent past has witnessed several attacks on civilians and security personnel by suspected Taliban militants who have been locked in fierce battles against security forces for last one decade in various parts of this South Asian nuclear Muslim state, mainly in KP, and northern tribal belt bordering war-stricken Afghanistan.
