ISTANBUL (AA) - August 5, 2012 - Syria's first astronaut, General Muhammad Ahmad Faris has joined the Syrian opposition.
General Faris arrived in Aleppo after running away from the Assad regime and met with commanders of the Free Syrian Army in Aleppo.
"I am ready to provide assistance to the Free Syrian Army. We are with you all the way," Faris told the commanders of the Free Syrian Army.
Faris entered Turkey on Sunday.
