DAMASCUS
At least 94 people including 24 children and 20 women were killed in attacks staged by the Syrian regime across the country on Saturday, opposition activists said.
Syrian regime forces killed 43 people in the suburbs of capital Damascus, 17 in Daraa, 9 in Rakka and Aleppo each, 8 in Homs, 3 in Latakia, 2 in Hama, and one in Idlib, Deir az Zor and Quneitra each in air and land offensives across the country, said the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR), a London-based group which tracks civilian and dissident casualties.
Free Syrian Army (FSA) opposition forces mounted a Grad missile attack on the Al-Kindi Hospital used as a base by regime forces, the Syrian Revolution General Commission (SRGC) said in a statement.
It was also noted that the FSA shot down a fighter jet attempting to bomb the district of As-Safira in Aleppo, and the armed opposition marked major gains against Assad forces in attacks on the buildings occupied by the regime forces in the districts of Eshrefiye and Halidiye.
Meanwhile, Assad regime forces launched heavy weapon attacks on the Douma, Yermouk, Darayya, Barzeh and Jobar districts of Damascus, and mounted mortar, missile and rocket attacks on Nabak.
On the other hand, Syrian official news agency SANA announced that the Syrian army troops cleared several regions of armed groups, and destroyed their vehicles in operations launched across the country.
