At least 20 people were killed Tuesday when Syrian warplanes bombed the Iraqi town of Al Qaim, according to local reports.
Syrian warplanes reportedly attacked a market in the border town of Al Qaim, injuring a further 25 people.
No official comment was available from either the Iraqi or Syria governments.
Al Qaim was seized by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant militants, backed by tribal fighters, at the weekend.
