MOSCOW

A suspect has been detained over the metro blast in St. Petersburg earlier this month which killed at least 14 people and injured more than 40 others, Russia's Federal Security Service said Monday.

Azimov Abror Akhralovich, 27, a native of the Central Asian region, was detained near Moscow and brought to the Russian Investigative Committee, the service said in a statement.

It said the suspect is accused of being involved in the attack and training the suicide attacker.

Russia’s Investigative Committee said on April 4 that Akbarzhon Jalilov, a 22-year-old Kyrgyz national, was identified as the man behind the metro blast a day earlier.
