A virulent outbreak of stomach disease caused by a virus from contaminated drinking water one month ago is still resulting in new cases in Montenegro.
Since the outbreak of the disease one month ago, a total of 1,530 patients have sought medical help.
A press release from the Health Center in Berane said, "the clinical diagnose of patients is generally of shorter duration, accompanied by nausea, vomiting and stomach cramps. A number of patients had stools and fever.”
Sanitary-epidemiological service of the Health Center in Berane in cooperation with the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro today continued epidemiological survey of citizens who have stomach problems, as well as taking samples from patients for microbiological diagnosis, says the statement from the Health Center.
Citizens of Berane are recommended to use bottled drinking water.
