A South Sudanese court on Friday released four politicians linked to an alleged "coup" attempt against President Salva Kiir.
Pagan Amum Okech, Oyai Deng Ajak, Majak D'Agoot and Ezekiel Lul Gatkuoth were arrested in December after Kiir accused sacked vice president Riek Machar of attempting to carry out a coup against his rule.
Speaking following his release Amum described the charges against him as "fabricated", going on to vow to work to achieve peace in South Sudan.
On Thursday, Justice Minister Paulino Wanawilla Unango said that the charges against the four politicians had been dropped upon Kiir's orders, citing public interest.
The conflict in South Sudan has already claimed more than 10,000 lives, with the U.N. estimating that some one million South Sudanese have already been displaced by the violence.
