Russian, US military chiefs speak via telephone

MOSCOW

Russian Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov held a telephone discussion Friday with US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The military chiefs discussed pressing issues of international security, it said in a statement.

Earlier Friday, Gerasimov took part in a meeting with Russian and British defense ministers.
