Russia and Ukraine exchanged air strikes on Saturday, according to the military services of the two countries.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that its forces launched massive strikes against Ukrainian military targets in 152 districts.

The attacks, carried out by aircraft, drones, missiles, and artillery, hit energy and transport infrastructure, equipment depots, and troop deployment sites used for military purposes, the statement read.

Russia's air defense also shot down two US-made HIMARS launchers and 366 drones over the past day, it said.

For its part, Ukraine's General Staff said one of the largest oil refineries was hit by drones Friday night, causing problems for fuel supply to the Russian forces in Ukraine.

It also said a plant producing shell parts in the Luhansk region, currently under Russia's control, was severely damaged in the overnight attack.

Ukraine's military service also said the Russian strike hit the Fastov airport near Kyiv and a railway station there.

Commenting on Ukraine's reports, head of the Russian Chechnya region Ramzan Kadyrov said the strike on Fastov was retaliation for Friday's attack on the Grozny-City skyscraper complex.

Independent verification of claims of both sides is challenging due to the ongoing conflict.
