Russia is allocating its resource against a non-existent enemy, said NATO's Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen over Russia's emplacing nuclear capable missiles in Baltic territory Kaliningrad on Thursday.
Attending the European Union (EU) summit, Rasmussen said NATO's missile system aims defensing the member states, and he added the system was not for Russia; that was why, there was no reason to take measure against the missiles.
Reminding that he has made so many statements over Russia's counter maneuvers, Rasmussen said Russia was allocating its resource against a non-existent enemy. "Obviously there isn't one NATO nation that has the intention of attacking Russia," Rasmussen said.
The deployment of the Iskander missiles, which have a range of hundreds of kilometers has caused alarm in Poland and the Baltic states, which are wary of Russian military movements after decades of dominance by the Soviet Union. Their alarm was aggravated by tension between Russia and the West over Ukraine.
