GAZA CITY
An Israeli army spokesman said Friday that rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel.
"No reports of injuries," Peter Lerner said on his Twitter account.
He, however, gave no details about where the rocket landed.
But Israeli newspaper Yediot Aharonot said that sirens had sounded in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council.
There was no claim of responsibility for the attack, which came hours after Israeli warplanes launched several airstrikes in the Gaza Strip in response to what the army said were rocket attacks from the enclave.
