ISTANBUL
Free Syrian Army, or FSA, claimed Thursday its had downed a Syrian MIG-23 jet near Idlib's Jabal Az-Zawiyah during an air strike in the region.
"A regime plane that rains bombs on its own people has been neutralized," the FSA said in a statement.
The FSA had previously claimed that it had shot down another Syrian warplane on August 13 and captured its pilot.
On Wednesday, the FSA said it destroyed 10 helicopters after capturing a regime air base in Taftanaz, Idlib.
