The leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis on Sunday said that he hoped the G8 summit would help bring all parties in the conflict to the negotiating table.
The pope wrote a letter to the British Prime Minister David Cameron, who will welcome the leaders of the world's eight wealthiest countries in Northern Ireland, stating, "I hope that the summit will help obtain an immediate and lasting cease-fire in the conflict in the Middle East, especially in Syria."
