ISLAMABAD (AA) - Pakistani Interior Minister said Sunday the attack that killed 78 people at an Anglican church was against Islam.
The death toll in the twin suicide bombings at All Saints Church in the Pakistani city of Peshawar rose to 78, with at least 130 injured, the country's state-owned news agency PBC said.
Minister Khan paid a visit to the city, where he told journalists the Pakistani government would support the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where Peshawar is located.
"Only anti-Islamic forces could perpetrate such a hideous attack," Khan said. He added the 130-year-old All Saints Church would be rebuilt.
Al-Qaeda-linked outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Jundullah claimed responsibility for the attack.
Christians make up about four per cent of Pakistan's 180-million population.
