A Palestinian was shot dead Sunday after allegedly opening fire on a group of Israelis near a Jewish-only settlement in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
According to the Israeli military, three Israelis were injured in the shooting attack, which allegedly occurred outside the Beit El settlement north of Ramallah.
The Palestinian Ma'an news agency quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the alleged assailant had shot three soldiers after he was stopped at a checkpoint outside the settlement.
Since Oct. 1 of last year, more than 160 Palestinians have been killed, either after carrying out alleged attacks on Israelis or during clashes with Israeli security forces.
Thirty Israelis and foreigners have been killed over the same period.
