Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) congratulated Libyan people following the general elections in that country.
Ihsanoglu congratulated the Libyan people following the announcement of the final results of the elections held in Libya on July 7 in an atmosphere of democracy and transparency as the Libyan people were able to vote freely and elect the members of the General National Congress which will lead the second transitional stage in Libya.
The Secretary General reiterated his confidence that all Libyan political parties will seek to establish the state of law and institutions and promote security and development in Libya.
