BEIRUT
Street fighting between Lebanon's pro-Assad Nusayris and the country's Sunnis continued on Saturday in Tripoli despite a ceasefire agreement brokered between the two sides.
A reporter and a cameraman with the Anadolu Agency entered Bab al-Tabbaneh neighboorhood, frequently targeted by snipers from Jabal Mohsen, a Nusayri stronghold.
"We support the Free Syrian Army. And we will continue fighting Nusayris to protect our families and children," a Sunni resident of Bab al-Tabbaneh told the AA.
Another Sunni fighter said Thursday's ceasefire was violated by the Nusayris when a Nusayri sniper shot dead a young Sunni imam overnight.
