LEFKOSA
President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Dervis Eroglu on Thursday stated that they didn't expect any change in the Greek Cypriots' attitude towards the Cyprus issue following the Greek Cypriot administration's elections.
Eroglu received board members of Cyprus Turkish Resistance Association (TMT) in Lefkosa.
"As long as there are such strong associations, we can carry out our duty much easier," said Eroglu.
Underlining the words of Greek Cypriot leader Dimitris Hristofyas who stated to be "one step ahead", Eroglu said, "The Turkish side has always been the side saying 'yes' to the statements related to Cyprus. We accepted the Annan Plan that the Greek side rejected. I don't expect any change in the Greek Cypriots' attitude towards the Cyprus issue following the Greek Cypriot elections."
Eroglu said that the embargo was told to be lifted after making an agreement, however; there was no time set to sign an agreement and therefore people were living under embargo undeservedly.
Stating that Cyprus was in close dialogue with Turkey in regards to the Cyprus issue, Eroglu stated that the intransigent attitude of the Greek Cypriots should be declared to the world.
