A Moroccan woman was killed and four other Moroccan nationals were injured in the terrorist bombings that struck the Belgian capital Brussels on Tuesday.
Two of the injured were in serious condition, according to Morocco's state news agency.
At least 34 people were killed when multiple blasts, claimed by the Daesh terrorist group, struck the international airport and a metro station in Brussels on Tuesday.
On Monday, the Moroccan Foreign Ministry said it had created a crisis center inside its embassy and consulate in Brussels to see whether there were other Moroccan victims.
Belgium is home to a Moroccan community of 410,000, close to half of whom live in Brussels.
Muslim Brotherhood condemns
Tuesday’s attacks were swiftly condemned by Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood group and its political arm.
In a statement, the Brotherhood described the attacks as “heinous crimes” against “innocent human souls,” going on to offer condolences to the Belgian government and families of the victims.
The Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party, for its part, called for rallying efforts to fight all forms of terrorism.
“We all should stand together in fighting all sorts of terrorism in every part of the world,” the party said in a statement. “Preserving world peace and lives of innocent people should become a priority for all of us.”
